Hearts have handed Gary Locke the manager's job on a permanent basis 24 hours before he was due to lead the team in the Scottish Communities League Cup final as caretaker boss.
Hearts had spoken to Peter Houston over the job with the former Dundee United manager reported to be lined up to take over after tomorrow's Hampden clash with St Mirren - but they confirmed today that Locke would continue in the role.
