Dave Wilson, the Scotland-born assistant manager of the Gibraltar national team, is hopeful that his homeland have been given something to think about after Gibraltar registered an historic first win on Wednesday night.

The minnows - the newest members of UEFA - defeated Malta 1-0 this week. Gibraltar will compete in Scotland's qualifying group for the European Championships and assistant Mark McGhee was among the spectators on Wednesday.

"We'll be happy to let Scotland have possession but they might be worried about how quickly we can counter-attack and how hard we will be to break down," said Wilson.
