Green riles players over contracts

rangers chief executive Charles Green last night placed himself on a firm collision course with the club's playing staff when he insisted that any player who tries to force a move away from the newco club will face court action, a controversial claim that is certain to be legally challenged by PFA Scotland at a summit tomorrow.

Green, the leader of the consortium which purchased the business and assets of the debt-laden Ibrox club for £5.5 million, is due to meet representatives of the players union following his latest declaration that the contentious transfer of player contracts to newco Rangers is already a fait accompli.
