TOM HATELEY could make his debut for Polish side Slask Wroclaw against Barry Douglas' Lech Poznan side on February 16 after signing on a two-and-a-half contract.

The former Motherwell defender turned down "two offers from Scotland" - one of which is understood to have been from Partick Thistle - and another from England to make the switch to the Ekstraklasa. He admitted, though, that his trial with the club had been an ordeal.

"It certainly took a while!" he laughed. "Almost three weeks is the longest trial I have ever experienced, but I am really glad I put in the effort. It took longer than I expected but all I could do was give my all."
