There was some irony in Gary Locke attempting to settle behind an unsteady table at a press conference yesterday since his position in charge of Hearts is similarly uncertain, with the Tynecastle club having opened discussions with potential candidates to replace John McGlynn on a permanent basis after his sacking eight days ago.
