Ally McCoist will make Honduran midfielder Arnold Parelta his next signing.

The Rangers manager strengthened his squad earlier this week when he signed Cammy Bell of Kilmarnock to a four-year deal and more players are expected to follow the Scotland internationalist into Ibrox soon – with Parelta poised to be the first.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Vida and has been capped 13 times, is a tough tackler who McCoist hopes will complement Ian Black and Kyle Hutton. Last month he said: "I first heard of [Rangers'] interest when I played against Panama. It is a great opportunity."

Meanwhile, McCoist won the third division's manager of the year award at last night's Irn-Bru 'Phenomenal' dinner.
