Murray Wallace is to be sent out on loan by Huddersfield Town after having made just two first-team appearances this season, both in the Capital One Cup.

The 20-year-old was recruited from Falkirk in January last year, with his first full season comprising a Young Player of the Year award and a call-up to the Scotland Under-21 squad. A lack of involvement in the Sky Bet Championship this term, though, caused the defender to be left out of the group which played European Championship qualifiers against Slovakia and Georgia earlier this week.

"We are looking at some loan opportunities for him, because we've not been able to get him in our side often enough," said Ross Wilson, Huddersfield's head of football operations. "We need to get some games under his belt and look after him as best we can."
