Hughes moves to secure Adam

Charlie Adam has opened contract talks with Stoke City, who signed the Scottish international playmaker from Liverpool for £5m in the summer of 2012.

Adam scored eight goals in 37 appearances this season and Mark Hughes, the Stoke manager, wants to secure his long-term future. The 28-year-old former Rangers player has two years left on his current contract.
