'Ignorant' report infuriates Hearts

Hearts strongly denied that the club held a meeting with staff yesterday to warn them of the impending prospect of administration.

The rebuttal was in response to a story that appeared on STV's website, describing the report as "ignorant" and shameless", and threatening to take legal action over it.

Hearts recently launched a share issue to raise funds to pay a potential tax bill but also provide cash-flow relief and meet a funding shortfall for the remainder of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League season. Recent events in Lithuania, though, have cast further uncertainty on the club's immediate future.
