The agent of Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne admits it is an "honour" for his client to be linked with Arsenal, but insists it is too premature to talk about a move away from Naples.

Reports in England claim Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a £17million bid for the 23-year-old this summer.

Insigne is currently with Italy preparing for the World Cup in Brazil.

"We take into account the praising reports that Wenger has given about the player," Insigne's agent Antonio Ottaiano said to www.tuttomercatoweb.com.

"We are honoured that a club like Arsenal could have Lorenzo on their wish list.

"However, from here to take it to the next level, that is a possible transfer, there is a huge mountain in between named Napoli.

"The (Naples) club consider him without a shadow of a doubt as one of their cardinal players for their ambitious project.

"Hence, as of today, I don't see that there can be any further developments unless Arsenal speak to Napoli directly and Napoli change their view on Lorenzo's role here."

Insigne, who made 36 league appearances to help Napoli finish third in Serie A this season, is under contract with his home club until June 2018.
