INTER MILAN are in disarray ahead of their Europa League showdown with Celtic this month after two of their players clashed with their own fans.

The San Siro giants are languishing in 13th place in Serie A and are just eight points off the relegation zone.

They slumped to a dreadful loss at the weekend when they were defeated by tiny Sassuolo 3-1, which sparked remarkable scenes at the end after two of their stars clashed with the Inter Ultras.

Mauro Icardi and Fredy Guarin threw their jeresys into the away support at the stadium to thank thank them for their support, but the outraged Inter fans flung the strips straight back at them!

Both players ran towards the fans to remonstrate with them and had to be hauled back by security.

Additionally, manager Roberto Mancini and former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic had a shouting match before the Serb was subbed.

Mancini said: "Things are going wrong at the moment, but this is the right concept of football. Of course we cannot allow opponents so much space to prepare and line up their shots.

"Unfortunately in Italy the only thing anyone cares about is the result, so we hope that can improve soon.

"Clearly there is some psychological fragility, as at the slightest difficulty they see everything negative. However, we absolutely did not deserve to lose this game or against Torino.

"The players want to win and see they are unlucky hitting the woodwork, so naturally that affects their confidence. It can also explain the tension at the end.

"The situation with Nemanja Vidic happened because he kept passing back rather than forward. These things happen in a game."

Inter have gone from being 12 points off the top when Mancini was appointed in November to 23 now.
