POLISH defender Jaroslaw Fojut has left Dundee United to return to his homeland.

Top-flight club Pogon Szczecin announced the 28-year-old centre-back had signed a three-year contract.

Fojut had a year left on his Tannadice contract but was keen to move back to Poland with his family following one season on Tayside.

United had already signed a replacement in Mark Durnan from Queen of the South.
