Biram Kayal last night confirmed he will leave Celtic at the end of the season after revealing the Parkhead side have refused to let him leave for nothing in January.
The Israeli midfielder has not been a regular starter under Ronny Deila and is out of contract at the end of the season.
Maccabi Haifa have already opened negotiations with his representative, Pini Zahavi, but he wants to stay in Europe.
Kayal said: "Pini has been working for a few months to get me away from Celtic. We have other clubs interested.
"He spoke to the chairman of Celtic, but nothing has happened as Celtic want some money to release me. At the end of the season I'll go.
"I was told by Pini Maccabi Haifa talked about me a few weeks ago, but he's heard nothing since. Maccabi are one of the biggest clubs in Israel, but my dream is to stay in Europe before I come back home.
"My contract is up at Celtic at the end of the season, so there is no need to reject any proposals right now. I'm injured just now, but should be back in two weeks or so.
"Every player wants to play for 90 minutes. I've been working hard and the coach has used me as much as he can."
Kayal revealed earlier this year he wanted to quit Celtic after becoming disillusioned with Scottish football. But he stayed on after the arrival of Deila in the summer and will now stay until the end of the season, meaning Celtic won't get a penny for him.
