MICHAEL LAUDRUP has ruled himself out of the running to succeed Andre Villas-Boas as manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Dane's name has been among those linked with the vacancy at White Hart Lane but Laudrup said he had no intention of leaving Swansea in the lurch in the middle of the season.

As he prepared for the visit of in-form Everton to the Liberty Stadium tomorrow, he said: "It is always positive and flattering when your name is linked with other clubs and Tottenham are a big club.

"But I would never leave a club, not Swansea or anyone, in the middle of a season. I have never done that as a player or as a manager and I will not do it in the future."
