LOUIS MOULT has set himself the target of scoring a minimum of 20 goals in his debut season in Motherwell colours.

The 23-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Fir Park after the Steelmen paid an undisclosed sum to Conference Premier side Wrexham for his services.

Moult scored 40 goals over the course of the past two seasons while playing for Nuneaton and the Welsh side and is confident of doing the same again despite facing competition for a place from fellow new arrivals Wes Fletcher and David Clarkson.

"I'm delighted to be here and it is a massive step in my career," he said. "It wasn't a move I could turn down.

"I'm here to score goals and I hope I can do that. In two seasons, I've scored forty goals and I'm going to try and make that sixty in three or even more if I can."

Manager Ian Baraclough is constructing a squad that looks capable of taking the game to their opponents and that has added to Moult's sense of excitement over the campaign ahead.

"I've had a look at the side and I know they can play some fantastic attacking football," he said. "With the two pacy wingers, who like to link up with the frontmen, I hope that will suit me and I can hit the ground running."
