Neil Lennon wants to add at least one more player to his squad before next week's Champions League second-leg tie against Cliftonville.

The Celtic manager secured a 3-0 victory at Solitude last night and is now looking to the following round – the draw for which is tomorrow – and considers it essential he acquires a new player to allow him to settle before these games kick-off a week next Wednesday.

Lennon reported there has been no further developments in the sale of Gary Hooper, but still expects that transfer to go through.

The signing deadline for the third qualifying round is July 25, though Lennon can add one more player up to 24 hours before the first leg. He said: "Hopefully, we've negotiated the tie, but we need new bodies in for the next round and we're going to do that. We're actively looking at strengthening the squad as there's money available from the [Victor] Wanyama transfer. Ideally, I'd like someone in before the second leg next week, if I can, so we can bed them in as quickly as possible. If we could get one in early next week, I'd be delighted."

Lennon is relieved the group of players already at his disposal were able to deliver a professional performance, and a comprehensive victory in Belfast. "Regardless of the timing of it, this had banana skin written all over it. I was wary of the personal side of it; bringing this team home was a great privilege for me. I'm just delighted with the way everything went, the atmosphere and the performance. It gives us a bit of breathing space now ahead of the second leg.

"There was a lot of negativity going into the game on the back of results in Germany but I'm delighted because we showed a lot of quality. It's been a balancing act and, hopefully, we'll get a few more fit after tonight. I think we've got a clean bill of health."
