Mark Reynolds has been drafted into the Scotland squad for the 2016 European Championship qualifier against Germany in Dortmund next Sunday.

The 27-year-old uncapped Aberdeen defender joined up with the Scots at their Mar Hall training base on the outskirts of Glasgow after Ipswich defender Christophe Berra remained at his club for treatment on an injury.

Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew is also nursing a knock but assistant manager Mark McGhee revealed he will join in training later in the week ahead of the Group D opener against the World Cup winners.

McGhee said: "Christophe is being looked at by his club but we are still hoping that he will show.

"We have brought in Mark Reynolds as a precaution in case ChrIstophe doesn't show.

"Mark was unfortunate not to be in the squad in the first place, he is certainly one of a short list that could have been in the squad.

"We know him, he knows us, so it is easy.

"Charlie is here. He won't train in the early part of the week but we expect him to be available for selection."
