ADAM MATTHEWS believes Celtic can go on to dominate the Scottish landscape for years to come thanks to the changes implemented at the start of the season by manager Ronny Deila.
The Parkhead side were crowned champions for a fourth year in a row last weekend when Aberdeen failed to beat Dundee United, and will celebrate that success when they take on the SPFL Premiership runners-up at Pittodrie tomorrow.
Matthews, who has been a part of all four title triumphs since joining Celtic from Cardiff City in 2011, credited Deila for this year's triumph, revealing that the Norwegian's focus on tactics in his first season in charge since succeeding Neil Lennon last summer had been pivotal in delivering further success to the club. And the Welsh defender thinks that Celtic can go on to add several more titles in the years ahead.
He said: "Every time you start the season the league is the first thing you want to win and we've done it four years in a row now. We struggled a bit at the start of the season but when a new manager comes in it takes a bit of time to adapt to what he wants to do. But, especially since Christmas, we've been near enough unstoppable.
"I've only had three managers in my career and Ronnie is right up there. He's been brilliant and we've shown that the system of play he has brought in is very effective and we are very hard to beat.
"He's a bit more tactical and works more on shape than we were used to under Lenny. Most of the time he used to just let us get on with it, and that worked for us as well. I think Ronnie's a bit more laid back. Sometimes you need to be shouted at, and he has done that at times this season, but he's been brilliant. I'm sure we can carry on and get success next season as well.
"We can definitely go on to win the next few titles. The players have adapted well to what he wants us to do. Players like Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen have really pushed on and shown what great players they are. I'm sure the gaffer will want to bring in another couple of players and hopefully they can gel. I'm sure we can go on and keep doing well for the next few years."
