Celtic midfielder Dylan McGeouch is determined to make the most of the remainder of his loan spell at Hibernian after confessing to feeling 'forgotten about' at Parkhead.

The 21-year-old joined Hibs for a season-long loan in August and was just hitting peak form in October when he was sidelined with an ankle injury.

The Scotland under-21 cap subsequently underwent an operation that kept him out of action for nine weeks until last weekend's Edinburgh derby against Hearts.

His return has been greeted with delight by Hibs head coach Alan Stubbs and McGeouch, who was farmed out to Coventry City last season and has played only four times for Celtic in the last 18 months, is keen to continue proving himself as he sees out his current Celtic contract.

He said: "I believe in my ability and I thought that coming here to Hibs would help me to develop as a player.

"It's a good standard and there have been a lot of big games. I just wanted to play regular first-team football and make people aware of what I can do.

"Unfortunately, I had been forgotten about a wee bit at Celtic; I had been on the bench and come on as substitute occasionally.

"So to come here, play regularly, perform well and help the team to win has made it a good move for both me and the club."

Meanwhile, Hibs vice-captain David Gray will undergo an operation tomorrow to cure a groin problem.

The 26-year-old is expected to be out for up to six weeks following the surgery.
