McGlynn: SPL could benefit from Old Firm departure

John McGlynn, the Hearts manager, believes Scottish football's dwindling crowds would flock back to the game in an SPL without Celtic and Rangers.

Although attendances are down, Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson last week insisted the "Armageddon" prediction made during the summer by SFA chief executive Stewart Regan about a top-flight minus Rangers has proved wide of the mark.
