ROSS COUNTY manager Jim McIntyre yesterday added to his squad ahead of Celtic's visit to Victoria Park tomorrow on league business by agreeing terms with the former Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Jamie Reckord.

The County manager's initial assessment of the 22-year-old was hampered by Reckord's stomach injury early in a two-week trial, but he is excited by the young player's promise. "He is 6ft 1in, athletic, and can get up and down the pitch - and he's looking for a chance.

"He has league experience on-loan at the likes of Northampton and Plymouth, so it is not as if he is coming fresh from Wolves' reserves. He has game experience."

McIntyre's fourth signing comes hot on the heels of the arrival of experienced campaigners Martin Woods and Terry Dunfield to bolster County's injury hit midfield.

Lewis Toshney was McIntyre's first arrival and, with Darren Barr. Jackson Irvine and Michael Gardyne all recruited between Derek Adams' sacking and the new manager's appointment, the County squad has been sizeably strengthened since the start of the season. McIntyre also has the former Motherwell, Cardiff City and Doncaster defender Paul Quinn on trial.

However, a decision on a deal for the former Scotland under-21 cap may not happen until after Celtic's visit. McIntyre said: "Paul is here on trial, although I'm loath to call it a trial - I played against him myself and he's a quality player.

"We're just having a look at each other - Paul is having a look at us as much as we're looking at him."
