RANGERS yesterday launched an attempt to boost season-ticket numbers by introducing a "club membership" scheme and announcing that all season-ticket holders would automatically receive free founder membership.

The manager Ally McCoist and the captain Lee McCulloch joined fans at Murray Park to launch Rangers Club Membership. The scheme will enable members to apply for a place on the new Fans Board, announced by the club earlier this month and to vote in Fans Board elections. Various members-only initiatives and benefits will apply. Non-season ticket holders can buy membership on the Rangers website at £24.99 for adults and £14.99 for juniors.

"This initiative is a fantastic way for our fans to get closer than ever to their club," said McCoist. "I am also delighted all Rangers season ticket holders are being given founder member status automatically and will receive all the benefits associated with that. Our supporters have shown unbelievable passion, loyalty and commitment to Rangers, especially in the last few seasons, and I can't thank them enough."
