Miller looks to extend stay with Whitecaps

Kenny Miller is in line to prolong his stay in Canada after an impressive start to the Major League Soccer season.

The former Scotland striker is out of contract with Vancouver Whitecaps at the end of June and has been linked with a return to Scotland and a third spell at Rangers.

However, the 34-year-old has indicated he would like to remain with his current club and Bob Lenarduzzi, the Vancouver president, has hinted Miller may be kept on due to his positive influence on the team's younger players.

Lenarduzzi said: "We're not ready to make a decision and there will be an ongoing assessment but Kenny is playing well and I think he has also been a good mentor for the younger players. That's what you're looking for from your players, and especially your senior players."
