Kenny Miller, the former Scotland striker, is expected to return to Vancouver this week to begin pre-season training with the Whitecaps, despite continued speculation linking with him with a return to Rangers.

The 34-year-old had been back in Glasgow in December and spent time at Rangers' training ground as he worked on his rehabilitation from knee surgery. Miller - who is under contract at Whitecaps until June - had intimated an interest in signing for Rangers again during that time, yet Carl Robinson is confident that his forward will be back in Canada to prepare for the new MLS campaign.

"Kenny has been continuing his rehabilitation at Rangers, with the guidance of us as well," said the Whitecaps head coach. "We're looking forward to having Kenny back."
