KENNY MILLER is expected to stay with the Vancouver Whitecaps ahead of their next season, according to the Canadian club's new head coach, Carl Robinson.

The former Scotland internationalist is currently training with Rangers as he recovers from minor knee surgery.

That has re-ignited suggestions that he may be destined for a third spell at the Ibrox club, with whom he spent 18 months after signing from Hibs in 2000 before rejoining from Derby County in 2008.

Miller is currently contracted with the Whitecaps until June and would be free to sign a pre-contract with any other club in January.

However, Robinson - a former teammate of Miller's at Wolves - said he has spoken to the player and expects him to report for pre-season training in the New Year.
