HAMILTON Academical are set to sign Dumbarton midfielder Chris Turner.

The former Shamrock Rovers player, who had a short spell with Partick Thistle in 2008, joined Dumbarton in 2012 and has featured in over 80 games.

Dumbarton manager Ian Murray, however, is left with mixed feelings over the 28 year old's departure in that he is off to join former Dumbarton assistant Guillaume Beuzelin at New Douglas Park for the new season.

Murray said: "I am obviously disappointed to be losing a very strong player from our pool however Chris is leaving with our best wishes. He returned to Scotland three years ago and worked hard to get back to being a full time player.

"The pleasing thing for us is that, like with Paul McGinn last season, playing with Dumbarton is viewed as a great place for players to develop."
