Morton relegated, but Taggart is staying up

DUMBARTON have signed Scott Taggart, the former Hibernian youngster, following his departure from Morton.

The 22-year-old joined up with his new team-mates at the start of pre-season training on Saturday and is thrilled to have secured a move that keeps him in the SPFL Championship after suffering relegation with Morton last season.

The versatile midfielder played three times for the Hibs first team before spending the last two seasons at Cappielow. "I'm pleased to be part of what is happening at Dumbarton," he said. "The gaffer [Ian Murray] and Jacko [assistant Ross Jack] have made me feel very welcome and there is a great spirit amongst the lads. I'm really looking forward to the weeks ahead and the start of the season."
