Murphy close to move away after Celtic lower demands

CELTIC have agreed to sell Daryl Murphy to Ipswich Town for a cut-price fee in order to get the striker off the wage bill.

The former Sunderland forward has been told he can leave Parkhead after spending the season on loan at Portman Road.

Celtic initially wanted £300,000 from the npower Championship club, a demand which was rejected. However, having also cut ties with unwanted defender Darren O'Dea, Celtic are understood to be willing to let the Irishman go to Ipswich for a nominal fee.
