STEVEN NAISMITH is expected to be passed fit to face Chelsea on Saturday after recovering from the concussion he sustained in Everton's FA Cup win against Swansea City last weekend.

Everton's medical staff are continuing to monitor the Scotland internationalist but he was allowed to resume training yesterday, with Roberto Martinez, the manager, declaring him "perfectly well".

Naismith, a second-half substitute, scored his team's second goal in the 3-1 victory and earned the penalty Leighton Baines converted for their third. However, he had to go off late on after taking a heavy blow to his head in a collision with Jordi Amat that left him dizzy and suffering from memory loss.
