Never-say-die attitude gains a valuable point for Jefferies' men

DUNFERMLINE may yet be relegated come the end of the season but they are at least putting up a decent scrap along the way.

Entering this match in desperate need of points as they look to overhaul Hibernian, they conceded a goal within four minutes, were 3-1 down early in the second half, and 4-2 down with 20 minutes to go. Each time, however, they rolled their sleeves up and came back at St Mirren, going on to earn what could yet prove to be a precious point. Like a zombie in a slasher flick, Dunfermline simply refused to keel over and die. Their reward for such persistence and adventure – manager Jim Jefferies sent on three attacking players from the bench – was an 88th-minute equaliser from Andy Kirk who then had a chance to win it deep into injury time but scooped it over the bar. Needless to say, this wasn't a game when defences were on top.
