TONY McGLENNAN, the Scottish Football Association compliance officer, has decided not to take any action against Jim Jefferies, the Dunfermline Athletic manager, who was sent to the stand during Saturday's Scottish Cup 2-2 fourth-round draw at Stranraer.

Neil McCann, the Dunfermline coach, will not be issued with a Notice of Complaint either, even though he had to be restrained after the final whistle. Jefferies was sent off by the referee Des Roache in the closing stages but claimed he had only been passing on instructions to his team.

McGlennan has looked into the incident and, despite having writter to Jefferies, opted against issuing a Notice of Complaint.

After the match Jefferies had said: "It is the first time I have been sent to the stand for trying to get a message to one of my own players; I never shouted at the referee or the linesman, or got involved in anything.

"When the ball was dead, yes, I went on to the pitch but you have seen it out there; it is only a yard from the box. He [Faissal El Bakhtaoui] is a French lad and he has not the best of English. I am on there explaining what he has to do when the play restarts and I get sent to the stand."
