Robert Snodgrass is close to joining Hull City after the Barclays Premier League club agreed a fee of £8m with Norwich City.

Should the move go ahead then the midfielder will become Hull's joint-record signing, following the acquisition of Jake Livermore earlier this summer.

Snodgrass scored seven goals in 34 appearances last season, but the Scotland internationalist was unable to prevent Norwich from being relegated from the top flight. The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Celtic during the last campaign but it appears likely that he will agree a contract to continue his career in England.

Hull are expected to begin discussions about personal terms with Snodgrass today and a medical will also be completed before the move can be ratified.
