PARTICK THISTLE may have surprised the rest of Scottish football with their 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday but they didn't shock themselves.

So much so that Jordan McMillan, the defender, says he and his team-mates - who had been expected to find themselves in a relegation scrap - are looking up the table rather than in the direction of tonight's opponents St Mirren, who are bottom.

Thistle will move 10 points clear of Tommy Craig's side with victory at Firhill; McMillan is sanguine about the prospect of doing so.

"We are not thinking about the gap - we are just thinking about the performances and doing well.

We are quietly confident of where we can be. We believe we can go and beat St Mirren."
