ABERDEEN have completed the signing of former Motherwell, Cardiff and Ross County defender Paul Quinn, the Pittodrie side have confirmed.

The Wishaw-born 29-year-old has penned a two-year deal after agreeing to join up with Derek McInnes' side.

Quinn came through the youth ranks at Motherwell and clinched a £300,000 moving to Cardiff in 2009. But he failed to settle in Wales and signed for Doncaster three years later.

After making over 70 appearances for Doncaster, he returned to Scotland after signing for County in October last year.

He helped the Ross County beat relegation from the Premiership but has now decided to make Pittodrie his next destination after the expiry of his Dingwall deal.

Quinn - who becomes Aberdeen's third summer signing after Graeme Shinnie and Joe Nuttall - said: "Aberdeen is a huge club and I can't wait to get started. When I heard Derek McInnes was interested in signing me, it was something of a no-brainer while playing in Europe was another major factor."

McInnes added. "I'm delighted to sign Paul, who has been a major influence on Ross County's form in the second half of the season. We're looking forward to him having a positive influence on our team.

"We've watched Paul on several occasions in the last few months and the key qualities he'll bring to the team are his experience, leadership and competitiveness. You cannot have too many leaders on the pitch."
