Here's how the players performed:

CHELSEA

Petr Cech: Let in Javier Pastore's late goal at his near post and perhaps could have been more of a presence when Ezequiel Lavezzi fizzed in the free-kick for the second goal. 4

Branislav Ivanovic: Mr Reliable in the Blues defence. Made a couple of important stretching clearances when PSG threatened. 6

Gary Cahill: A solid display to show why he is set to be England's first choice in Brazil this summer. Stood up when Edinson Cavani ran at him late while Zlatan Ibrahimovic never got a sniff. 8

John Terry: It was his weak clearance that was pounced on by Lavezzi for the opener and after his own goal at Selhurst Park at the weekend he has not had the best of weeks. 5

Cesar Azpilicueta: Tireless worker down Chelsea's left flank. Gave nothing away defensively until the final moments when Pastore beat him first before going on to score. 6

Ramires: Booked early and did little thereafter. 5

David Luiz: Let down a hard-working display by giving away a soft free-kick and then unluckily stabbing Lavezzi's delivery into his own net. 6

Willian: Busy as ever down his flank but lacks the goalscoring threat to take the pressure off Eden Hazard on the other side. 5

Oscar: Won the penalty for Chelsea's goal but did not have much of an impact before being subbed for Frank Lampard. 5

Eden Hazard: Was double teamed most of the night to curb his influence. A coolly-taken penalty gave Chelsea the away goal that just about keeps them in the tie. 6

Andre Schurrle: Looked lost in a lone striker's role he had not been asked to do since a trip to Old Trafford last August and, like then, was equally ineffective. Substituted on the hour. 3

Substitutes

Fernando Torres: Once coming on he did little to suggest Jose Mourinho was wrong to start him on the bench. 4

Frank Lampard: Watched Pastore go by for PSG's third goal in stoppage-time. 4

PARIS ST GERMAIN

Salvatore Sirigu: Did not have much to do and when he did Hazard sent him the wrong way from the penalty spot. 6

Christophe Jallet: Had a big job against Hazard and never let the Belgian get by, albeit with the help of some willing cover from his team-mates. 7

Alex: A fairly comfortable night against his former club, with Chelsea playing without a recognised striker for the majority. Picked up a booking. 7

Thiago Silva: Dived in on Oscar to give away a penalty but made a clever interception when Hazard tried to play in Torres on the break. 7

Maxwell: Shackled Willian effectively without providing much going forward. 7

Marco Verratti: Neat and tidy in the middle of the park, although his preference to take an extra touch courted danger when Chelsea did press him higher up the pitch. 6

Thiago Motta: As steady as ever in the middle of the park knitting PSG together. Booked late on for pulling back Willian. 8

Blaise Matuidi: Supplied a second-half cross that an unmarked Lavezzi headed over and did enough to ensure PSG won the midfield battle. 7

Ezequiel Lavezzi: Took his goal beautifully and his dangerous free-kick forced Luiz to put through his own goal. A constant threat with his pace on the break. 9

Edinson Cavani: Was tasked with helping double-team Hazard and the extra defensive duties reduced his attacking threat. Missed a glorious late chance. 5

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Can change a match in a moment, but hardly got near the ball before suffering a leg injury and going off. Could now miss second leg. 4

Substitutes

Lucas Moura: A substitute appearance here but his pace marks him as a potential starter to catch Chelsea on the break in the second leg. 5

Yohan Cabaye: A hasty long-range shot went over in his 15 minutes on the pitch. 6

Javier Pastore: Sensational run and finish with the last kick ensured PSG will head to London as the big favourites to go through. 8
