QUEEN OF THE SOUTH are set to take Kevin Holt's move to Dundee to an SPFL tribunal after the two clubs could not agree on a compensation fee.

The Dumfries club, who yesterday confirmed the signings of Ryan Conroy and Robbie Thomson, are entitled to transfer cash for the left-back, with Holt under the age of 23 and having been attached to the Palmerston side since he was 11.

Dundee announced just under a fortnight ago that the 22-year-old had agreed a three-year and would officially join the Dens Park outfit on July 1.

Holt made 41 appearances last season as James Fowler's side reached the Championship play-offs.

But the league's governing body now look set to look into Holt's switch with Queens not satisfied with the compensation offer from Dundee.

A Queens spokesperson said: "Due to his age, the club will be entitled to compensation for his development.

"The clubs have not agreed a fee and so the matter is likely to be decided by a tribunal.

"Kevin has been attached to the club since he was 11 years old and had made well over 100 appearances at first team level."

Queens, meanwhile, have announced the pre-contract signings of winger Conroy and goalkeeper Thomson from Raith and Cowdenbeath respectively.

Fowler said: "I'm excited to have these guys on board. Ryan is a very creative player and has the ability to score goals.

"His performances against us this season shows his quality.

"Robbie is a young keeper who fits the profile we're looking for. He had other offers available but he chose to come to Queens, which is pleasing."

Long-serving Queens midfielder Paul Burns has also agreed a new one-year deal, as have youngsters Jake Pickard and Scott Hooper.
