Rangers benefit from surprise attack as Albion are starstruck

Amid the enduring tumult, the echoes of a football match reverberated around Murray Park on Saturday.

Rangers newco have watched impotently as a flurry of pre-season matches have been cancelled – as a litany of off-field stresses engulfed Ibrox – so they can maybe be forgiven for surreptitiously approaching a bounce match with Albion Rovers.
