Rangers have suspended Fran Sandaza on full pay as they investigate comments he allegedly made to a prank caller.
The Spaniard appeared to reveal details of his contract to a man claiming to be a US-based agent, adding that he only joined Rangers for the money.
McCoist said: "Fran has been suspended on full pay pending an internal investigation. I'm told it will hopefully last no longer than a week. It's far too early to say anything else."
