Rangers update . . .

RANGERS will stand shoulder-to- shoulder with Celtic to block any changes to the Scottish Premier League voting structure.

In the wake of Rangers' financial difficulties, the so-called "Gang of 10" non-Old Firm clubs have called for the current 11-1 system to be abolished and a new majority of 9-3 introduced. The Parkhead club have already voiced their opposition to the move and they will receive backing from Rangers administrators Duff & Phelps as they look after the interests of the SPL champions. A meeting will be held on April 12 at which the 10 other teams will discuss the move. Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston earlier this week expressed his wish for Rangers to come on board and back the proposals, suggesting Duff & Phelps might require the support of the other 10 clubs in the future as it sought to resolve the club's financial problems.
