Aberdeen are in danger of being called to account by the Scottish Football Association after their official website stated that Motherwell "stole" second place in the SPFL Premiership.

The front page of Aberdeen's internet portal had a link to a report headlined "Dons finish third after shocking decision" in the 'Matchday Live' section.

The article also accused referee Steven McLean of "ignoring" two fouls in the lead-up to the goal that gave the Lanarkshire club a 1-0 win at Pittodrie, among a series of claims about the match.

SFA rules state that clubs are responsible for all material published on their official website, as well as within official club publications.
