RONNY Deila last night warned his predecessor Neil Lennon against making a bid to take Kris Commons to Bolton Wanderers.

The Northern Irishman, who took charge of the Championship outfit last week, has spoken of his interest in the 31-year-old, who has yet to agree to extend his contract beyond next summer.

Commons didn't travel to Dingwall for the 5-0 victory over Ross County yesterday due to the recurrence of a nagging gluteal injury, but Deila insisted Celtic have no intention of selling the player.

"We won't want to sell anybody," said Deila. "We want to build a team. I think we have a very good dialogue going on with Kris over contract talks. This doesn't frighten me."

Commons is expected to return for Thursday night's Europa League meeting with Romanian outfit FC Astra Giurgiu. And Deila is confident that Emilio Izaguirre will also recover from the ankle injury suffered following a tackle by Michael Gardyne that saw him stretchered off.

"I think he's going to be fine," said Deila. "I didn't see what happened, but I've been told they are hopeful. They have to get a picture of it. It's the same ankle he broke a couple of years so he gets a bit scared about that, but I hope it's nothing serious."

The scale of Celtic's victory eased the pressure on the Norwegian, following the home defeat to Hamilton Academical, and Deila said it was vital his side now put together a consistent run of form.

"That was the response I wanted after the Hamilton game," he said. "To win 5-0 away was a really fantastic performance. Someone told me we had big problems here before. It's important we build on this."
