JAKE JERVIS, the Ross County striker, expects his side to produce a more compelling performance in front of the television cameras on Monday night, having been ripped apart by Celtic the last time they were on the box.

The Scottish champions strode to a 5-0 win in Dingwall that day, with Jervis playing for the full second half of the defeat.

The cameras will be rolling again on Monday when the Highland side host Aberdeen. While Jervis stressed that his team-mates have put their heaving defeat by Celtic behind them, he acknowledged that the result may still provide an incentive for County when Aberdeen visit next week.

County had shown some signs of recovery in the league before their meeting with Celtic, with another valuable point earned in Paisley on Saturday. For Jervis, the towering striker who was signed from Portsmouth in June, Monday's home match cannot come soon enough.

"The St Mirren match brought a good point, but we definitely should have taken all three, so we're keen to get back into action," said the 23-year-old. "The disallowed goal [an effort by Michael Gardyne] was difficult to take, but we go into the next game determined to improve again.

"You can definitely see the improvement over the last four games where we've had a win and two draws. The next game against Aberdeen will be tough one, but I think we've got all the fire-power to take the game to them. It's another game in front of the live cameras and there should be a good crowd behind us under the lights.

"I think every player enjoys these occasions because you know you've got a bigger audience and I know there will be friends and family of mine watching down south.

"It's just a case of going out and showing what we are capable of. The Celtic game wasn't a good one for us in front of the cameras, so hopefully we can go out and put it right this time."
