Goalkeeper Arvid Schenk has left Dundee after possibly the most unsuccessful playing stint in the club's history.

The German played just one game for the Dens Park side - a 6-2 New Year's Day thrashing by Dundee United.

With Kyle Letheren returning to fitness following a thigh injury to challenge Scott Bain for the gloves, Schenk has now been released.

A Dundee statement read: "Goalkeeper Arvid Schenk has this morning left the club at the end of his contract. We would like to wish Arvid all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts while at Dens."
