Alloa kept Queen of the South from scoring at Palmerston Park for the first time in the league this season but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
The league leaders were chasing their eighth win in a row but Alloa came closest in the first half, with a Kevin Cawley shot deflected narrowly wide and a Ben Gordon header against the crossbar after half an hour.
