TIM SHERWOOD has been appointed the Tottenham Hotspur manager position on a full-time basis, with a contract until the end of next season.

Sherwood met with Daniel Levy, the club chairman, yesterday to discuss his role at the club, after which he was offered the position for the medium-term future. The former Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers midfielder was handed the chance to take charge of the senior squad after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked following the 5-0 loss at home to Liverpool last weekend.

"We have a great squad and we owe them a head coach who will bring out the best in them and allow them to flourish and enjoy a strong, exciting finish to the season," said Levy. "We believe Tim has both the knowledge and the drive to take the squad forward."
