Craig Sives, the Livingston defender, has acknowledged that positive results against Rangers, Hibernian or Hearts this season will be a "bonus" but is confident that his team can spring a surprise tomorrow against the Tynecastle side.

Livingston host Hearts in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup, with Sives eager to register an expected result against a team which has won three matches in a row. Indeed Hearts will travel on the back of a victory in the Edinburgh derby.

"Outside the big three, everyone is probably scrapping in their own wee league," said Sives, a former Hearts player. "It's vital we take points in those games and anything we take off Hearts, Hibs and Rangers is a bonus."
