IAN McCALL, the former Dundee United manager, has registered his interest in taking over at Morton.

McCall is keen to end a three-year spell out of the game since leaving Partick Thistle by taking over at Cappielow for a second time.

The post remains vacant following the resignation of Kenny Shiels last Monday.

"I want back into football and I have got myself into great shape for getting back into football," said McCall, who has lost a lot of weight.

"I have become fitter than I have been in years I would love the opportunity to prove myself again at Morton.

"Things are different under Douglas Rae and I'd welcome the opportunity."
