Livingston hoisted themselves off the foot of the table with a commanding 4-0 win at Raith Rovers, creating a new belief that they can beat the drop.

Mark Burchill has always been convinced his team can pull off a great escape and his players have clearly bought into it.

They outclassed a Raith side who, admittedly, had little to play for apart from professional pride. It was the manner of the victory which suggested the momentum is with them going into the final day.

Livingston enjoyed the bulk of the early possession and there was a certain inevitability about their early breakthrough, Craig Fordyce heading home from a Keaghan Jacobs' corner

Livingston doubled their advantage through Craig Sives shortly after the interval before a Danny Mullen header and a Craig Barr own goal sealed the points.

It was a grim day for the home side and there was not even the consolation of a late goal.

Substitute Lewis Vaughan saw his penalty saved by Darren Jamieson three minutes from the end as every player contributed to Livingston's victory.

Queen of the South booked their play-off place with a 2-1 win over Dumbarton at Palmerston.

It was pretty tame for much of the first half - Mitch Megginson was just inches away from connecting with an

Archie Campbell cross in front of goal for Dumbarton before the home side responded.

Derek Lyle had a better chance with a close-range header but it was directed too close to Danny Rogers and the goalkeeper reacted superbly.

Campbell had a rare chance for Dumbarton at the other end but Jim Atkinson saved comfortably.

But that was as close as either side came in a barren first half which seldom threatened to catch fire.

It improved after the break and Kevin Holt made the breakthrough with a connection at the back post to put Queen of the South ahead.

Stephen McKenna made sure of the points with a perfectly guided shot from the edge of the area which curled away from Rogers.

Donald McCallum pulled back a late goal for Dumbarton after the Queens' defence opened up invitingly.

The goal spurred Dumbarton in the final stages with Campbell and Martin Gilhaney both going close but, by then, it was mission accomplished for Queens.
