Forfar Athletic moved to the top after seeing off Airdrieonians 2-0 at Station Park.

Martin Fotheringham gave them a half-time lead but the points were not secured until the 89th minute when Mick Dunlop scored the second goal.

Stranraer lost the leadership after going down 1-0 to Dunfermline at East End Park.

Dunfermline dominated without creating too much in the first half and it was Stranraer who came closer with Sean Winter's 37th-minute header slipping narrowly wide.

Ryan Scully did well to deny Winter the breakthrough early in the second half with an alert save but Dunfermline won it through an 83rd-minute goal from Faissal El Bakhtaoui.

Morton had a remarkable 3-2 win over Stenhousemuir at Cappielow, scoring all of their goals in the final 13 minutes.

Greg Fleming twice denied Jamie McCluskey in the first half as Morton pressed.

But Ross Meechan gave Stenhousemuir the lead with a stunning strike on the counter-attack and Paul McMullan tapped home the second shortly after the break.

But Peter MacDonald, Declan McManus and Stefan McCluskey all struck late for Morton to turn the game on its head.

Brechin City all but secured a play-off spot with a 2-1 win over Stirling Albion, who were finally relegated.

Andy Jackson scored twice, his second goal coming right at the death after Sandy Cunningham looked to have salvaged a point for Stirling.

Peterhead fought back from two goals down to beat Ayr United 4-2 at Somerset Park.

Ayr took the lead after 18 minutes when Alan Forest netted and three minutes later Jordan Preston added a second but Andy Rodgers pulled a goal back before the break.

Jordan Brown equalised for Peterhead eight minutes into the second half and then put Peterhead in front shortly

afterwards. Gary McDonald completed the comeback.
