Dunfermline Athletic made their supporters sweat before seeing off 10-man Brechin City 3-1 at East End Park.

Jim Jefferies' side led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Ryan Wallace and Ryan Thomson.

Brechin's Stuart Anderson was sent off for a wild challenge on Josh Falkingham just before the hour but Paul McLean pulled one back for the 10 men to make life uncomfortable for the hosts until Wallace scored again three minutes from time.

Kevin Kyle scored an 85th-minute winner as Ayr United beat Stenhousemuir 4-3 at Somerset Park. The lead changed hands several times, with Michael Moffat converting two penalties and Michael Donald also netting for the hosts while John Gemmell (penalty), Sean Dickson and Ross McNeill scored for Stenhousemuir.

Forfar Athletic beat East Fife 2-0 at Station Park. The visitors' Gary Thom was sent off for deliberate handball in the first half. Iain Campbell missed the penaIty but Chris Templeman and Ross Campbell scored in the second half.

Stranraer beat bottom club Airdrieonians 3-1 at Stair Park with goals from Martin Grehan, Sean Winter and Andy Stirling.
